Temple University's College of Science and Technology has started a brand new chapter of a nationally recognized foundation called Scientista. The mission of this organization is to empower women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM) by cultivating a strong interdisciplinary campus community and facilitating close relationships with scientific woman professionals and younger woman scientists. Ultimately, the chapter will offer female students the resources needed to succeed--be that through sharing connections, providing opportunities, tutoring, and offering the support of a strong community.  On February 8, 2019 Madeleine M. Joullié, the first woman to join the University of Pennsylvania chemistry faculty, served as the guest speaker for one of the Temple Scientista's first group meetings.
