A great time was had by all presenters, visitors, and special guests at the 2016 Junior Science and Humanities Symposium.  High school students from around the Philadelphia Area competed to win the chance to represent Philadelphia in the national JSHS competition held in Washington DC.  Temple University's College of Science and Technology provided a STEM Fair for all visitors.  Derrick Pitts, Chief Astronomer and Director of the Planetarium at the Franklin Institute gave an inspiring talk to start the day off.  Mid-day, Mayor Jim Kenney visited each booth at the STEM Fair and even took a few pictures (shown below).  Awards were presented by Temple University's College of Science and Technology Dean, Michael Klein.  For more information about the JSHS and how to get involved in the 2017 competition by visiting this link.
