Named after Leonardo da Vinci, the arts festival is fun and captivating for all ages as it explores the unquenchable curiosity of this Renaissance master. Famous for paintings such as the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper, he also possessed a genius for technology, astronomy, engineering, botany, and much more. Da Vinci Fest celebrates how creativity manifests itself at the intersection of disciplines through events, exhibitions, and crative activities for the public. It is sure to be fun, engaging and inspiring for all ages!
During the Da Vinci Derby, a featured event, participants of all ages and backgrounds are invited to showcase their pre-designed and embellished race cars at the festival. Whether created to race (or simply look the part), Da Vinci Derby participants will celebrate their inner artist, inventor, and competitor through this day-long competition. Race Cars compete in intervals on our specialized Da Vinci Art Alliance race track that records times with accuracy to 0.001 of a second. All levels and ages of racers are encouraged to compete. Art Cars are displayed as an art object, included in a professional exhibition for the duration of the day-long festival. All registered art cars will be exhibited and considered for awards by prominent Philadelphia-based jurors in the fields of art and science. To learn more about Da Vinci Fest, please click here. |
